Kodi’s Cause: Paws for Health was born from the unwavering spirit of a chocolate Labrador named Kodi — a survivor, a companion, and a source of strength. Her journey through health challenges inspired a movement rooted in love, resilience, and the powerful bond between pets and people. Kodi showed us that healing doesn’t happen alone — it happens with support, comfort, and connection.
What began with Kodi’s recovery has grown into a mission to raise awareness about cancer, nutrition, and neurodivergent conditions. Her story reminds us that each pawprint carries the potential to bring hope, educate, and inspire. Through Kodi’s legacy, we stand together — humans and animals alike — advocating for a healthier, more informed future, one paw at a time.
ABOUT KODI: The Miracle Dog
Kodi’s life has been a remarkable journey filled with challenges and resilience.
At just one year old, Kodi was diagnosed with seizures that persisted for nine months. Despite our efforts and consultations with various specialists, we struggled to find a solution. Determined to help him, we researched treatments, remedies, and dietary changes. Eventually, our efforts paid off, and Kodi’s seizures ceased.
When Kodi turned eight, he faced another significant challenge: a diagnosis of Mast Cell cancer. He underwent numerous veterinary and oncology appointments, surgeries, and multiple CT scans. The oncologists gave Kodi only nine months to live, but his veterinarian, Frank from East St. Alban’s Vet Clinic, had a different outlook. Frank’s unwavering support and belief in Kodi gave us hope during this difficult time.
In 2018, Kodi started a new diet, and since then, he has chosen to stay with us. Remarkably, Kodi was in remission for five years. However, in August 2023, a grade 2 Mast Cell tumor was removed, and in October 2023, he faced another challenge when diagnosed with a heart condition.
Now at 15 years and 9 months, Kodi continues to defy the odds. His fighting spirit inspires us every day, reminding us that miracles can happen.
